PARTICIPATION ELIGIBILITY
• Only players between the ages of Six (6) and thirteen (13) years old on the day of the Tournament may participate in the Tournament provided that each player has a parent or legal guardian fill out and sign a Tournament Consent and Release form prior to the player’s participation in such Tournament.
• A player may not participate in a Tournament if he or she is prohibited by federal, state, or local laws, the rules of the Tournament Organizer, or by a venue’s management; or specifically prohibited from participation by The Maple Grove Beyblade Organization.
PLAYERS
Players are responsible for:
• Behaving in a respectful and polite manner toward Tournament Officials, other Tournament participants,
and spectators, and refraining from unsporting conduct at all times.
• Complying with announced start times.
• Calling attention to any rules infraction they notice in their Battles.
• Being familiar with these Official Rules.
• Being physically present for the Tournament.
TOURNAMENT EQUIPMENT
• Players are responsible for providing their own BEYBLADE BURST to participate in a Tournament provided that their BEYBLADE BURSTS comply with the following requirements:
o BEYS that do not disassemble or burst are prohibited.
o BEYS must contain the following three (3) components: Energy Layer, Forge Disc and
Performance Tip.
o The use of modified or broken parts or accessories is prohibited. If parts or accessories are found to be broken, worn out, painted or purposely modified to change its original function or if a Tournament Referee determines that such parts or accessories are dangerous to use in the Tournament, such parts or accessories must be replaced by the player prior to participation in the Tournament. Replacement parts and accessories are the sole responsibility of a player. Failure to replace may result in a disqualification in the Tournament.
o BEYS must be fully assembled prior to the start of the Tournament. Unless instructed by a Tournament Referee, players will not be allowed to disassemble or customize their BEYS once the Tournament commences.
o A player may use up to three pre-assembled BEYBLADE BURST at each Tournament provided that only one BEY may be used each Round and the top must be chosen prior to the start of such Round.
• Players are responsible for providing their own BEYBLADE BURST launcher to participate in a Tournament provided that their BEYBLADE BURST launcher complies with the following requirement:
o The use of modified or broken parts or accessories is prohibited. • All Tournament Battles must take place in the BEYBLADE BURST Beystadium which will be provided by the Tournament Organizer.
INSPECTION OF TOURNAMENT EQUIPMENT
• A Tournament Referee will inspect all BEYBLADE BURST and launchers prior to each Tournament Round.
• A Tournament Referee may inspect any BEYBLADE BURST top or launcher at any time and in their sole discretion. Upon request, a player must disassemble his/her BEYBLADE BURST top and allow immediate inspection by the Tournament Referee. Refusal of inspection may result in immediate disqualification from the Tournament.
• If a player is found to be using a BEYBLADE BURST and/or launcher that violates these Official Rules, such player may be immediately disqualified from the Tournament.
TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION
• REGISTRATION. Upon arriving at the Tournament, each player must register with the Tournament Organizer and will be given instructions regarding competing in the Tournament. All player must be accompanied, at all times, by their parent or legal guardian.
• CONSENT AND RELEASE FORM. Each player’s parent or legal guardian must complete a Tournament Consent and Release form prior to the player’s participation in the Tournament.
BATTLE
• A Battle will consist of two (2) players launching their BEYBLADE BURST into a BEYBLADE BURST Beystadium. The winner of a Battle will be the first player to reach three (3) points.
• A Battle ends when:
o One top stops spinning;
o If a top is knocked into a pocket or out of the BEYBLADE BURST Beystadium, or
o If a top bursts.
• During each Battle, players must comply with the following:
o BEYBLADE BURSTS must be launched immediately following the designated Tournament Referee’s signal of “3, 2, 1... Let it Rip”;
o Players must launch their BEYBLADE BURST tops from the designated area;
o Only one (1) launch is allowed by each player in each Battle;
o Players cannot launch their BEYBLADE BURSTS from a standing, jumping or running
position; and
o After each Battle, players must refrain from touching their top until the Tournament Referee
has announced the winner.
• Players who do not comply with the above requirements will receive a warning. If a player receives two (2) warnings in a single Battle, such player will forfeit the Battle and such player’s opponent will win one (1) point by default.
• A player will automatically forfeit a Battle and such player’s opponent will win one (1) point by default
if any of the following occurs:
o Such player is not present when the Battle begins;
o Such player is not prepared or such player’s BEYBLADE BURSTS is not properly assembled
when the Battle begins;
o Such player touches his or her opponent, spinning BEYBLADE BURSTS, or the BEYBLADE
BURST Beystadium before the end of the Battle;
o Such player receives two (2) warnings in a single Battle; or
o Such player’s BEYBLADE BURSTS launches outside the BEYBLADE BURST Beystadium.
BRACKET PLAY
• Based on the number of players entered in the Tournament, the Tournament Organizer will determine to use either an 8 player, 16 player or 32 player Tournament bracket, single elimination format.
• A Tournament bracket, single elimination format will consist of Rounds and Rounds will consist of head- to-head Battles. In a Round, the first player to score three (3) points wins. If a Round ends with a tie, additional Battles will be played until a Round is won. Players will use the same BEY in any additional Battles resulting from a tie.
• Players that win their Round will advance to the next Round. Players that lose their Round will be eliminated from the Tournament. The winner of the final Round will be the Tournament winner.
SCORING
• For each Battle, scoring will be as follows:
o Ring Out Finish: At the conclusion of the Battle, if a player’s BEYBLADE BURST finishes
outside of the ring or in one of the pockets of the BEYBLADE BURST Beystadium, the player’s
opponent will be awarded one (1) point.
o Survivor Finish: If a player’s BEYBLADE BURST stops spinning before the other BEYBLADE
BURSTS, the player’s opponent will be awarded one (1) point.
o Burst Finish: If a player’s BEYBLADE BURSTS bursts into pieces during Battle, the player’s
opponent will be awarded two (2) points.
• If a players’ BEYBLADE BURST enters a side pocket of the BEYBLADE BURST Beystadium without
immediate escape (bounce back into battle), the players opponent will be awarded one (1) point.
• If the Tournament Referee determines that both BEYBLADE BURSTS stopped spinning at the same
time the Tournament Referee will declare the Battle a tie.
TOURNAMENT BEHAVIOR
Unsporting conduct will not be tolerated at any time. Players must behave in a polite and respectful manner at all times. All incidents of unsporting conduct are subject to disqualification from a Tournament.
