About Theresa:
Theresa has been a dance enthusiast for as long as she can remember. She has extensive experience in ballet, modern and aerial arts, but nothing captures her heart like jazz music and swing dancing. She adores all styles, especially Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Lindy Hop and solo jazz.
As an instructor, Theresa is known for having a keen eye for body mechanics with a strong focus to encourage her students to listen to the music as a way to influence movement.
About Jonathan:
Jonathan Ng is an avid teacher and competitor in balboa, lindy hop, collegiate shag, and solo jazz based in New York City. He strives to give students the tools to develop their own unique voice in the dance by sharing the values of conversation, musicality, and play in each class he teaches.
With a background as a jazz violinist, Jonathan approaches swing dancing with the same core philosophy as he would playing on the bandstand: the best ideas are born out of a combination of great technique and the willingness to explore beyond it.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE - SUBJECT TO CHANGE:
Friday April 26
**8-11pm: Miss Shannon's Friday Night Sock Hop featuring the Southside Aces
Saturday April 27
9:30am-3:30pm:
Intermediate Classes taught by Theresa and Jonathan
Beginner Classes taught by local instructors
7-8pm: Intro to Collegiate Shag class taught by Theresa and Jonathan
8-11pm: Dance
Sunday April 28
**10am-2pm: Swing Brunch at Aster's with Patty and the Buttons
2:30-5pm: Advanced Classes* taught by Theresa and Jonathan
5-6pm: Dance
*Acceptance into Advanced Classes is via Video Audition
