MiniBoss Business Tour 2026 | Brisbane | Ages 9 to 16
About this Event
See business from the inside
Most children experience businesses as customers. They see the shop, the product, the website or the advertising, but rarely get to see what happens behind the scenes or speak directly with the people who built and run the business. The MiniBoss Business Tour gives students that opportunity.
Over 2 days, students will visit 5 Brisbane businesses across different industries, meet founders, executives and business leaders, and discover how businesses actually work from the inside.
Rather than learning about business in a classroom, students will see it happening in real life. They will hear directly from founders about how businesses started, the decisions and challenges behind them, and have the opportunity to ask their own questions.
What students will discover
Through business visits, masterclasses, practical experiences and team activities, students will explore:
- how different businesses and business models work
- how founders turn ideas into real businesses
- who their customers are and what problems they solve for them
- how businesses make money
- how businesses attract customers and compete
- what happens behind the scenes that customers normally never see
- the role of innovation and customer experience
- the challenges, mistakes and important decisions involved in building a business
Students will also practise speaking with business professionals, asking thoughtful questions and learning directly from the people behind the businesses they visit.
A Business Tour workbook and preparation activities will encourage students to observe, question and compare what they discover throughout the 2 days.
The goal is to help students start looking at businesses through the eyes of an entrepreneur rather than only through the eyes of a customer.
For students already interested in entrepreneurship, the Tour provides a deeper understanding of what building and running a business actually involves. For those who have never considered business before, it can open up an entirely new way of looking at the businesses and opportunities around them.
