Our Miniature Wheel Thrown Pottery class is perfect for all people ages 16 and up who want to learn to throw miniature pottery. This class is specifically geared towards people who have taken at least one round of our Beginner Wheel Thrown Pottery class or who have some experience with throwing on a pottery wheel. This prior experience is not a requirement, however you will have more success if you are somewhat familiar with the process prior to the class.
During this five week class you will learn to center on a miniature wheel, make test tiles, make slab "cookies" to fire your pieces on, throw mini mugs or cylinders, extrude and attach handles, make mini bowls, and glaze your pieces.
This is a five week class and you will attend your registered class each week. The class costs $200. With the purchase of the class you will get a miniature wheel, tools and hand extruder that will be yours to keep after the class is over. You can also take these tools home to practice between classes. This class also comes with 5lbs of clay. Additional clay can be purchased from our main store and usually costs between $18 and $28 for 25lbs. You can fire three 6 inch x 6 inch "cookies" of pottery as part of the price of the class. This class does not come with Open Studio time.
