Visio Divina: Praying with Icons
Icons have been part of Christian tradition since the 8th century, flourishing in the Byzantine Empire and continuing today as objects of prayer and contemplation.
We begin the program year with an invitation to “sacred seeing,” exploring visio divina as a form of contemplative practice. Guided by Laurie Muench, we’ll pray with Trinity’s own beautiful icons, as well as others she will share, opening ourselves to new ways of encountering the Spirit.

About the Presenter
Laurie Muench is an accomplished iconographer and teacher of iconography through the Classical Iconography Institute, with a special focus on renewed images of women and women’s stories in scripture.
Contemplative Mini-Retreats take place every 3rd Saturday, 9:00 am-noon. Join us for meditation, contemplative prayer as we sit together in community, with time for reflection, learning, and support, with guest teachers to help us explore the contemplative path. Mini-Retreats are free, but donations are gratefully accepted.
