0-0-2 Pickleball of Navarre and DUPR present: Mini Moneyball Tournament at the Salvation Army Indoor Gym in Pensacola!
Registration opens February 5th, 2025 for current SAG punch card holders and league members. Registration opens to the public February 25th, 2025.
The cost is $25 per player, PER bracket entered. For example, if a player is entering mixed doubles their cost is $25. If a player wants to enter mixed doubles AND women’s doubles, their cost is $50.
Every player will register for this tournament SOLO - you do not sign up with a partner. Brackets will be played as round robins, so you will play with and against every player in your bracket.
ALL players are required to have a “Dupr” account and a “Swish” account to enter this tournament. Both apps are available in the App Store. Your Dupr account must join 0-0-2 Pickleball of Navarre Dupr club. If you need help setting up either of these accounts, please either contact the tournament director or ask a friend who has done it successfully!
Brackets must have a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 8 players. If a bracket is not filled with the minimum amount of players before tournament time, that bracket will be canceled and any $ paid will be refunded.
There are 3 divisions: women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
For each of the divisions there are 3 brackets players will be placed into by a CERTIFIED RATINGS ASSESSOR:
Novice (NR/not rated)
Intermediate (Dupr =2.5-<3.25)
Advanced (Dupr =3.25-<3.75)
*Important note* YOUR CURRENT DUPR RATING MAY NOT BE AN ACCURATE REFLECTION OF YOUR CURRENT SKILL LEVEL. You will be placed into the appropriate bracket by the ratings assessor, not by your current Dupr rating.
The 4-8 players in each bracket will play round robin games within their group. Each player will play a minimum of 6 games with and against all players in their bracket. The player(s) with the highest win/loss record in each bracket will be the winners. Tie breaker goes to point differential, then head to head matches.
Games will be side out scoring to 11, win by 2. There will be no refs. All matches will be reported to Dupr. Even NR players will end up with a Dupr rating after this tournament!
Prize payouts are as follows:
4-5 player bracket: 1st - $60
6-7 player bracket: 1st - $60, 2nd $40
8 player bracket: 1st - $75, 2nd $45
The tournament will run from 8:30am-3pm. Start times will be staggered. Start times will be announced at least 3 days before the tournament.
Payment can be made via Venmo (@Christina-Alconcel) or cash to Robin, Mark, or Christina at SAG. A withdrawal from the tournament will only be refunded up until March 15th.
