There are two parts to this workshop on May18th, 2024 Sat. 10am.
Part 1: Understand the role of conventional drug pharmacy and the role of the pharmacist. Explain the basic principles of a drug prescription. Discuss the benefits of a CMR (comprehensive medication/drug review) and why is important for patients the enlist the help of the pharmacist. What are the common patient challenges of taking drug medications?
Part 2: Understand why the Chinese medicine doctor/ Acupuncturist is also the herbalist. Discuss what is a Chinese natural medicine apothecary. Explain how TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) herb prescriptions differ than pharmaceutical drugs. Explain Chinese medicine alternatives to ameliorate side-effects of drugs. Explain why herbs can be use safely with drugs.
No charge to CIM current patients seen within 6 months, CIM interns or to those with patient vouchers. All others are $20.00 per person. Pre-registration is required for limited seating.
