1) Bring home a started or finished mini Hmong embroidery magnet or pin
2) Learn how to cross stitch the Tsev or House design
3) Collectively connect to Hmong identity and culture through cross-stitching
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This workshop is open to ages 15 and up participants who are interested in learning Hmong paj ntaub (cross-stitching). Participants do not need to have prior knowledge or experience working with needles or cross-stitching, but be able to work with needles and fine aida cloth.
Costs? FREE!
All supplies will be provided.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Padah Vang is a visual artist with works that include painting, textiles, and miniature modeling. The art that she creates captures her deep fascination and curiosity of her surroundings and has allowed her to become a collector of sunrises and sunsets, mountains, Asian foods, and her Hmong identity.
