Location: 3426 200 St, Fort MacLeod, AB
Event Theme: History, Scenic Drives, and MINI Pride!
Join us for an exciting road trip to one of Alberta’s most iconic historical landmarks! This event is all about enjoying a scenic drive, learning about Indigenous history, and connecting with fellow MINI enthusiasts. Whether you’re a history buff or simply love a good cruise, this event is for you.
Itinerary for June 1, 2025
8:30 AM – Meet-Up at Southcentre Mall (Calgary)
Meet in the south parking lot at Southcentre Mall, near the main entrance.
Quick introductions, route overview, and distribution of printed maps or GPS links.
Ensure everyone has enough fuel and snacks for the drive.
9:00 AM – Departure
Start the convoy heading south along Highway 2.
Enjoy a scenic 2-hour drive through Alberta’s beautiful countryside.
Planned rest stop at a gas station/rest area near Claresholm (~10:15 AM).
11:00 AM – Arrival at Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump
Park in the designated visitor parking lot (ample space for our Minis).
Gather for a group photo with the stunning landscape as a backdrop.
Quick welcome and introduction to the site.
11:30 AM – Explore the Site and Visitor Centre
Tour the interpretive centre to learn about the history and cultural significance of the buffalo jump.
Stroll along the outdoor trails for breathtaking views and interactive exhibits.
Entry Fee: $15/person (pay on arrival or pre-book online).
1:30 PM – Lunch Break (On-Site or Bring Your Own)
Enjoy lunch at the on-site café (serving Indigenous-inspired dishes) or picnic in the outdoor seating areas.
2:30 PM – Social Hour and Photo Opportunities
Spend some relaxed time chatting with fellow members and admiring the cars.
Take individual and group shots of the Minis against the prairie landscape.
3:30 PM – Departure for Calgary
Regroup in the parking lot and prepare for the return drive.
Optional pit stop in Fort MacLeod for those who want to explore or grab coffee.
5:30 PM – Arrival Back in Calgary
Arrive back at Southcentre Mall or head directly home from the convoy.
What to Bring:
Comfortable shoes for walking trails
Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat (it can get sunny and windy!)
Water and snacks for the drive
Cash or card for admission and lunch
Your MINI in top cruising shape
