Location: Glenbow Road, Cochrane, AB
Event Theme: Scenic Drive, Outdoor Exploration, and MINI Camaraderie!
Join us for an adventurous day at Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park, a hidden gem nestled between Calgary and Cochrane. This event is perfect for those who love combining a scenic drive with outdoor exploration. With stunning views of the Bow River Valley, walking trails, and a chance to reconnect with nature, it’s the perfect way to spend a summer Sunday with your MINI family.
Itinerary for August 24, 2025
9:30 AM – Meet-Up at Crowfoot Cineplex
Location: Meet fellow club members, review the route, and distribute maps or GPS links.
Ensure everyone has a full tank of gas and is ready for the drive.
10:00 AM – Departure for Glenbow Ranch
Start the convoy heading west along Highway 1A toward Cochrane.
Enjoy a 30-minute scenic drive through rolling foothills and farmland.
10:30 AM – Arrival at Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park
Park in the main parking lot (ample space for our Minis).
Gather for a group photo with the beautiful Bow River Valley as the backdrop.
10:45 AM – Guided Tour or Self-Exploration of Trails
Join a guided walking tour (if available) to learn about the park’s history, ecology, and significance.
Alternatively, explore the trails at your own pace, with paths suitable for all fitness levels. Suggested trails include:
Yodel Loop: A short loop with panoramic views of the valley.
Glenbow Trail: A moderate walk leading to beautiful river vistas.
12:30 PM – Picnic Lunch at the Park
Bring your own picnic lunch and enjoy it at one of the designated areas with scenic views.
Relax and chat with fellow MINI enthusiasts as you soak in the tranquil atmosphere.
1:30 PM – Social Time and MINI Showcase
Spend time mingling with fellow club members and admiring the variety of Minis in the group.
Take more photos of the lineup and the beautiful surroundings.
Begin the return drive to Calgary or make a stop in Cochrane for ice cream or coffee at MacKay’s Ice Cream or a local café.
2:30 PM – Return to Calgary
Regroup and drive back to Calgary as a convoy.
Arrive at Dalhousie Station Shopping Centre or head home directly.
What to Bring:
Comfortable walking shoes for trails
Picnic essentials: food, drinks, blanket, or folding chairs
Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat
Water bottles for the walk
Camera or phone for photos
Full tank of gas before departure
