Join us for Mineral Matching Madness where we will show you the basics of mineral identification followed by a friendly rock and mineral matching challenge; no experience required!During Geology Club’s first event of the semester, we will guide you on how to identify some of the minerals found in Texas rocks in a collaborative effort by testing real mineral specimens. This will be followed by visualizing the relationship between the two when we match real rock samples with the minerals they’re composed of in a friendly competition.
This hands-on activity will allow attendees to examine different specimens and use clues to make the best match.
