Mindfulness of the Body for Artists Practice Group

This is a 5-week meditation and art practice group. Each week we will meet in person, practice mindfulness meditations together, have time to write or make art, and discuss and share our process and insights.

Outside of our meetings, you will be invited to develop practice habits that fit within your daily life commitments. To honor your embodied presence through regular and community-supported meditation, and to let practice influence your art making.

We will work with the book Transformation and Healing by Thich Nhat Hanh, which includes the Sutra on the Four Establishments of Mindfulness. For this series we will focus on the practices for Mindfulness of the body in the body.

At the end of the series, there will be the option to share a creative project or process with the group. We will learn together, and honor the many ways to integrate new experiences and express ourselves beyond words.

This series will be facilitated by Lynne Piper at the Heart Center Sanctuary in Portland, OR. Lynne is an artist, facilitator, psychedelic integration coach and meditator. They bring to their facilitation work their backgrounds in sound and movement arts, western witchcraft, plant magic, consent work and dedicated meditation practice. They teach the 7 Homecomings practice from Lama Rod Owens weekly, and host ongoing creative community integration events.
