About Speakers,

Dr. Beatriz Craven

Dr. B is the founder and owner of Modern Therapy. With deeply set existential roots, she has helped form the foundation of the practice in a way that is always respectful and sensitive to the uniqueness of the human experience. Dr. B believes in the power of being heard, understanding our individual stories, and breaking the patterns that bind us. Here’s a note from Dr. B: “As I stepped (and continue to step) into myself throughout my life, I have harnessed an enormous sense of humility as I remain committed to life as an ongoing process of growth. The farther I move into the world and meet people from all walks and all positions of life, it has fascinated me that NONE OF US ARE FREE FROM BEING HUMAN.” She hopes you embrace your own humanity and remember that you too, are worthy of taking space for your psychological health.

Holly Coneway

Holly is not only a therapist at Modern Therapy, but also a coach. Working both as a life coach and executive coach, she has a unique specialty within the practice to help our leaders become the most aware and emotionally intelligent selves. Here’s a note from Holly: “I want my clients to know that I really, truly get it, even if the concerns that I run into vary. I know that it can be incredibly irritating to look at the gap between yourself and where you want to be. Some people have the vision where they know exactly where they want to go, but want support and a non-biased lens to help them stay on their best path. Other folks might not know exactly where to start or how to put into words what they're wanting and feeling. That's OK too. I can help with that.” Holly believes in the power of clarifying your true goals within life (led from a healed place) and living with intention.

Dana Springer

Dana is one of our dear fellows at Modern Therapy. A graduate of Clinical Social Work from Columbia University, she’s a recent Houston transplant that is eager to make change within her calling as a therapist. Here’s the word from Dana: “I had two revelations that set me on the path as a therapist forever. I realized that everyone has a story of struggle, no matter how brave or “normal” a face they put out in the world, leading with empathy and not judgement when relating to others was key to this realization. Second, I never wanted anyone to suffer in silence to the point where things became unbearable to hold, be it temporarily or long term. I felt that I had knowledge as well as a gift to empathize and support people who are learning to cope with mental health struggles that inevitably come up throughout life.” She looks forward to holding space for you at the event and in the future within her role as a healer in the community!
