This course provides an overview on the relation of mindfulness and how it can impact mental health. Mindful interventions and techniques will be explored and knowledge of how these approaches can be used to promote the healing of emotional and somatic problems in children.
Learning Objectives
Participants will describe 2 or more self-calming techniques to use when working with children using play therapy.
Participants will identify 1 or more mindfulness practices, including direct experience with mindfulness meditation.
Participants will describe 2 or more mindfulness interventions and how they can be used in play therapy.
Participants will analyze 2 or more ways to cultivate mindfulness in play therapy.
Participants will analyze 1 or more ways to integrate trauma responses with mindfulness techniques.
Participants will identify 1 or more self-awareness techniques with play therapy.
Participants will describe 2 or more ways that mindfulness works with the play therapy process.
Participants will analyze the theory of interpersonal neurobiology.
