Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an eight-week evidence-based mindfulness training designed for stress management and to assist people in dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and pain.
Jon Kabat-Zinn originally developed MBSR at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. The MBSR classes use a combination of mindfulness, meditation, body awareness, gentle yoga, and the exploration of patterns or behavior, thinking, feeling, and action. This is an evidence-based approach that has beneficial effects on both mental and physical health.
Classes are 2 hours long except for the first and last class, which are 3 hours long. Overall, this course offers 30 hours of experiential learning and instruction.
This course is designed to fit your schedule, offering a hybrid model that allows for virtual or in-person attendance, ensuring you can participate in a way that suits you best.
Julie Russomanno, MC, LPC, is a Certified EMDR Therapist, EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and a Level 1 MBSR teacher. She is registered with the Global Mindfulness Collaborative
