About this Event
We'll hike through the woodlands of Van Cortlandt Park; around ponds, along Tibbit's Brook, and through 3 different forests. This hike is almost entirely shaded so, we'll feel relief from the heat however, it could be buggy, so bring bug spray and/or dress accordingly.
AGENDA
We'll hike for 30 minutes, pause for a 5 meditative breathing exercise, sit for 20 minutes of nature journaling, and then hike out.
The nature journaling could be; writing a simple haiku, noting the weather, sketching nearby plants, tracing a fallen leaf, doodling, or absolutely anything that keeps one's attention focused on the natural surroundings with pencil to paper for 20 minutes.

engage participants with nature threefold; the hike immerses us in nature, the meditation tunes us to nature’s wavelength, and the journaling provides the means to closely observe and thereby connect more deeply with nature.
