Schedule
Sun Oct 20 2024 at 01:00 pm to 02:30 pm
UTC-04:00Location
Nagle Avenue & Fort George Hill | New York, NY
About this Event
Hike the stunning High Bridge Park. The views are gorgeous and it's a thrill to walk over the High Bridge. Also, it will likely be peak foliage this weekend in NYC.
We'll hike for 30 minutes above the tree canopy, pause for a 5 meditative breathing exercise, sit for 20 minutes of nature journaling, walk the High Bridge, and then hike out at 155th street.
The nature journaling could be; writing a simple haiku, noting the weather, sketching nearby plants, tracing a fallen leaf, doodling, or absolutely anything that keeps one's attention focused on the surrounding natural environment with pencil to paper for 20 minutes.
(approx. 1 1/2 hrs total)
- Supplies are provided but, feel free to bring your own sketchbook or journal
- Wear layers, comfortable walking shoes (ones that can get muddy), hats &/or sunscreen
- There are several restrooms throughout the hike
MEET UP LOCATION:
We'll meet at the tip of the park at the intersection of Nagle Ave and Fort George Hill across the street from the #1 train/Dyckman Street Station.
One week prior to the hike I'll send you more tips/suggestions on getting there. In the meantime feel free to reach out with any questions:

Mindful Nature Journaling Hikes engage participants with nature threefold; the hike immerses us, the meditation tunes us to nature’s wavelength, and the journaling provides the means to closely observe and thereby connect more deeply with nature.
