Mindful Mobility May Workshop: Low Back & Feeling SupportedThis is the fourth in a monthly series of workshops exploring a different part of the body in depth.
This time, we’re focusing on the low back and what it means to feel supported in your body and in your life.
Part 1: 90 minutes – A physical and practical exploration of the low back
30 minute afternoon tea break (provided)
Part 2: 90 minutes – An embodied exploration of support in life
The low back is about support, load sharing, and stability.
It is the part of the body that often works the hardest, especially when other parts are not contributing.
When your body is properly supported and sharing the load, the low back does not have to do everything alone.
Part 1: Physical and Practical Workshop
We will cover:
• How the low back is designed to function
• How the body shares load so the low back is not doing all the work
• The role of the hips, glutes, core, breath, and upper body in support
• Common habits of sitting, standing, and walking that impact the low back
• Why the mid-back moves more and the low back stabilises and how to work with that
• Strengthening exercises and movement to improve coordination and ease
• How to both support and restore the low back
You will leave with practical tools you can apply in your daily life.
Part 2: Embodied Exploration of Support
The second 90 minutes will be slower, deeper, and more reflective.
The low back is closely connected to how we hold ourselves up physically, emotionally, and practically.
We will gently explore:
• Where do you feel supported in your life and where do you not
• What are you carrying that may not be yours to carry
• What makes it hard to receive support
• What would it feel like to be supported financially, emotionally, and physically
• How stress around finances, work, or daily resources might be showing up in your body
• What might change if you did not have to hold everything on your own even in times of uncertainty or economic pressure
My aim is to guide a gentle exploration where you lead the way. Practices may include resourcing exercises, Embodied Processing, belief exploration, and a Theta Healing guided meditation.
These practices are designed to help your nervous system feel settled and safe so you can notice where you may be unconsciously carrying burdens, including those related to money or material resources, and experiment with letting some of that load go.
There will be space for sharing your experiences if you wish. My intention is that you leave feeling more resourced, supported, and open to receiving support in your life.
If you are currently navigating significant trauma or feel unsure about this kind of work, please reach out before booking. I want to ensure you feel properly supported and in some cases a one-on-one session may be more appropriate.
If you are ready to feel more supported in your body and in your life, this workshop is for you.
Investment: Early bird $80 (book before 20th April).
Full price: $90
