Mindful Drawing - lunch break session | Archway, North London

Need a bit of calm in your week?

This is a short lunchtime Mindful Drawing session at The Gallery At The Playroom, Archway, North London. A great way to take a gentle pause, reset and a proper mini lunch break.

Many people are easing back into work this week, and this session is designed as a simple, supportive way to start building mindful practices into the working day.

This is a 40 minute guided session, focused on slowing down and turning down the mental noise.

We will:

• Use simple mindful drawing techniques
• Work with pen, pencil and charcoal
• Draw from images inspired by artwork and objects within the gallery
• Focus on process rather than outcome

No pressure, no judgement, no need to be good at drawing.

All levels welcome, from complete beginners to experienced artists.

Mindful drawing can help:

• Improve focus and concentration
• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Support wellbeing during busy workdays
• Build confidence in creative practice

This session takes place during a group exhibition at The Gallery at The Playroom, Archway, featuring multiple artists, including Emily’s Places I Swim work.

Places I Swim explores wild swimming, water and wellbeing through original oil paintings, mixed media sketches and limited edition archival prints.

Emily Wood Ahmed is a visual artist and experienced arts and community workshop facilitator based in North London. Alongside her creative practice, she works in health and wellbeing, community research and participatory engagement, and is a qualified Reiki healing practitioner. Her work brings together creativity, mindfulness and care, creating accessible and supportive spaces for people to slow down and reconnect.
