About this Event

About the Play

Magic in the monotonous. Magnetism in the mundane. Weighty or wasted? Mind the Gap is a one act play following pairs of strangers as they get chatting – by chance – in the churning belly of the London Underground. One unsuspecting duo nurses an emerging friendship over daily rides on the Piccadilly Line. Can such connections transcend their vacuous circumstances? Can the content of their conversations? Words unspoken between the rails, some sung by a live busker, screech questions about the silenced social world they live in, and how - despite the trundle of the trains – it’s getting quieter.

Mind the Gap's first draft was written as a university assignment. Later extended, it made its debut at the Gilmorehill centre in Glasgow for two booked-out performances in May, and was published this summer with Hummingbird Publications. It has been restaged with a stellar new cast for a short run this autumn. Content warnings include use of strong language.

About the Company

This is the inaugural project of new creative initiative The Snap Collective, founded by writer and director Steph. Freshly launched this summer, our goal is to create shared spaces in Glasgow for bold performance work. Our members are driven by a commitment to creating space for meaningful stories that invite human connection and encourage reflection on everyday life. To follow our work visit @thesnapcollectiveco on Instagram.
