MPEM is a space for folks into hypnosis, behavioural change, mind control, energy play and anything else that focuses on engaging the mind in kink! Every 1st Monday of the month, we gather to share knowledge, meet likeminded kinksters and practice technique in a casual way.

This month's workshop: Discovering your Dominance with Sinister Denial and HypnoHedonista

The idea of taking control/ causing pain/ training and improving someone/ etc.... it appeals to you! But you're not sure how to turn this appeal into meaningful experiences. In this workshop, we'll start from the basics -- how to uncover and get comfortable with your desires, how to get confident talking to potential s-types about them -- then dive into topics like finding your Dominance archetype, cultivating a sense of authority and entitlement, allowing for service, and embodying a sense of Dominance in a scene. Using tips from our work as pro-dommes, hypnotists, and our experiences as lifestyle kinksters in a 24/7 power exchange relationship, we'll use a combination of ideas and practical exercises help you feel into your Dominant self and project that into your scenes.

About the speakers:

Sinister (@sinisterdenial) has been experimenting with, teaching, and generally passionate about hypnosis for six years. She now produces hypnotic videos as one half of the production company Mesmerotic, and runs a second studio, EdgeSluts, focused on her other area of expertise: orgasm control. She's enthusiastic about teaching hypnosis and helping it to be as accessible as possible to newcomers or giving scene veterans new tools to use in their play. She practises more general kink alongside hypnosis in her daily life, and delights in finding new ways to combine them. She offers professional sessions, tuition and other services online and off, in addition to her paid and free content on Patreon. She is in a 24/7 ownership dynamic with Trix.

Imaginatrix (@hypnohedonista) has a passion for hypnotic hedonism. As well as being a ride or die kinkster, Trix works full-time as a hypnotic content creator, Domme, and BDSM educator. An eternal switch, her hunger for hypnosis is boundless, whether she's melting minds or being mesmerised. She is a certified hypnotist trained in Integrative Hypnosis and Sexual Freedom Hypnosis® techniques. She makes up the other half of Mesmerotic and brings her erotic hypnosis to LoyalFans and Patreon. She loves deep-diving into mind play techniques and thinks hypnosis is an incredible tool for connection and pleasure. She is also Sinister’s possession, and hypnosis is a core part of their dynamic.

FAQ

Where is it held?
We do our thing in the upstairs room of Ye Old Salutation Inn (The Sal), a kink friendly pub. The room is accessed up a flight of 14 stairs with a solid hand rail. We're sorry there's no wheelchair friendly access, but if your mobility can be assisted by MPEM staff please let us know how we can help.
The pub itself is quite loud, usually playing heavy metal, but the room upstairs is fairly quiet (depending on how many attend) and the stairs up can be accessed from the street (Maid Marion Way side).
The toilets in the meeting room will be designated gender neutral, the toilets downstairs in the pub remain gendered.
Am I welcome?
We are committed to welcoming all knowledge levels, genders, orientations and body types.

I don't feel comfortable actually doing mind play yet. Do I have to?
There is never any pressure to play/trance, you're welcome to simply observe, chat and participate to your comfort level.

What if I'm not interested in the classes?
If you're not interested in the classes, no worries, feel free to do your own thing, or come later for Koala Box or speed trance

What happens at the event?
7pm: doors open, chat and meet
7:30: Workshop begins

11pm: MPEM-MM finishes but feel free to go downstairs and chat in the pub

What are the rules/etiquette?

Event Rules:
Over 18s only! Organisers may request ID to confirm age.
Privacy: No photos. Respect use of scene names. Be discreet arriving and leaving. If you meet someone out in the world, be tactful about how you know each other (not everyone can be open about their kinks).
Questions and curiosity are encouraged! Disruption or rude behaviour during classes will not be tolerated.
Discrimination, bigotry, or hate based on race or ethnicity, gender identity or expression, age, religion, orientation, neurodivergence, disability, national origin, or socioeconomic class will absolutely not be tolerated.
MPEM is purely for the discussion of recreational fun- not therapy.
Consent is paramount. Do not attempt to trance someone who has not given their consent! We will be operating an 'opt in' consent model for any group exercises, and encourage this model when playing at MPEMMM, though we recognise familiar play partners will have pre-negotiated consent. Do not try to renegotiate after the scene has begun, as the subject will not be able to give their full consent. If someone declines to play (including a 'soft no' like a 'maybe'), do not try to convince them otherwise. Get consent for physical contact.
Your negotiations for play should be full, thorough and specific. If you don't know how to conduct a negotiation for mind play, ask to be sent the Consent Worksheet by an organiser to help guide you.
This event allows for light, experimental play and practice. However, please be aware that this is foremost a learning space, not a play party. Be mindful of volume, and other's comfort with the themes of your play. No sexual contact or nudity is permitted. Please contain any play to the MPEMMM room, and not the downstairs of the pub.
Do not use other people's hypnotic or conditioned triggers without the subject's consent to do so.
Event safewords are: RED means STOP IMMEDIATELY, YELLOW means slow down and check in, GREEN means please continue or go ahead.
In the case that you feel consent has been breached, or if anything makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please contact the organisers and monitors who will make themselves known at the start of the event.
MPEM organisers reserve the right to take steps to create most effective learning space for participants and is a group that does not tolerate those who intent to harass, bypass consent, or violate the boundaries of others.
Anyone who does not respect these rules may be banned from this and future MPEM events. Organisers are in discussion with other events organisers in the Midlands and the mind play scene more generally, and will share information for the safety of attendees. Therefore, a ban from MPEM events may affect your ability to attend events elsewhere.

Where can I park?
Nottingham is weird for parking. In most cases, it's cheaper to park in a car park then it is to park on the street, especially for long periods.

The closest parking is on-street around St Nicholas Street/Castle Gate. Please bear in mind the time the car parks close, as some (e.g. Spaniel Row) lock after 10pm!

Covid Measures:
To best protect all attendees, we ask all attendees to take a lateral flow test before attending and show results on the door.

The current climate has placed a lot of individual choice in the hands of event organisers regarding how we safeguard our attendees. As I’m sure you understand, these are not measures we want to enforce, our focus is running the best events we can for the community, not managing the minutiae of a pandemic, but we’re aware of the amount of harm/inconvenience we can potentially cause if we don’t.

No records will be kept, we’ll just view them on the door as we check you off against the guest list.
Hand sanitiser will be provided.

Masks are not compulsory but wearing them would be appreciated, especially in confined areas such as the entrance.
