Visit the souk/shouk, sample tantalizing dishes, enjoy live music, and take a special tour of artworks that express the interfaith themes and traditions of the Mimouna festival.
Mimouna is a traditional Moroccan Jewish festival of good neighbors celebrated together with Muslims, when after Passover, doors of Moroccan-Jewish homes are left open and all are welcomed to enjoy singing, dancing, and traditional sweets.
In addition to traditional North African sweets, a new generation of Jewish and Muslim Moroccan artists, Noam Yekutiel Sibony (Gen Z) and Ismail Bouzidoune (Millennial), will share a harmonious blend of music focused on Chaabi, Andalusi/Sephardic, and Gnawa music styles that reflect some of Morocco’s cultural diversity.

Last year, over 1,400 people joined us for DC’s Official Mimouna, hosted annually by SHIN-DC, including Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, U.S. Special Envoy to Combat and Monitor Antisemitism, and dignitaries from various Embassies and the community.
