Milwaukee's First Annual Black Men In White Coats Youth Summit

Join us for an exciting day of mentorship, medical exposure, and networking, as we strengthen the future of healthcare. Students (BOYS & GIRLS 6th grade and up), parents, educators, healthcare professionals, and community leaders are all welcome!

In response to an alarming report that highlighted the decreasing number of black men applying to medical school, we began Black Men In White Coats in 2013. We have worked closely with medical schools, high schools, and physicians to provide inspiration and mentorship to our youth who may be interested in healthcare as a profession.

In May 2024, we will continue this work by bringing students (boys & girls 6th grade and above), educators, parents, physicians, and community leaders together for an amazing summit! Over the course of the day, students will engage in hands-on activities and network with healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds. The goal is to inspire and show them that though not many, there are people who look like them in this field, and if we can do it, they can do it.

Furthermore, all participants under the age of 18 must be registered by their parent or legal guardian. Participants under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or their designated chaperone while at the summit.
