A Family Kite Flying Day is naturally dependent on the WIND and weather (rain date 10/2) which tends to be quite wonderful in Milton in October! It will certainly include kites flying, and picnics on the lawn (pack your own or get a discount at neighboring Dogfish Brewery), and a free concert (though CDs and kites will be for sale). But you do need to bring your favorite chairs, blankets and of course, your favorite kites (parking near by). The day, presented by Federal St. Arts Project and the Town of Milton, will be set to a soundtrack of NEW MUSIC djs from WOWD LP Radio takomaradio.org, and a live concert by Janel Leppin’s Ensemble Volcanic Ash (aka EVA), a carefully orchestrated septet that will perform her exciting compositions. Defying category EVA has been called a chamber-jazz-punk hybrid, the perfect music for the drama of swirling kites!
