"Fifteen years ago, Mikele and Fran Borra created Tangorra. From the very beginning, the idea of crafting contemporary, modern, and urban tango has been a journey—looking for its own style, exploring paths, and making its way through the colors of German techno, learning, and seeking deep and personal melodies inspired by timeless tango, the laments of the bandoneón, and various elements that shape their music.
Throughout this beautiful journey, musicians, friends, and colleagues have joined, leaving their indelible mark on the band. At this point, Tangorra is more of a band than anything else. With the logic of an orchestra, but ultimately a band that thrives on collective creation, breaking musical conventions, and celebrating what’s different.
Albums came and went, national and international tours, beautiful shows, all leading to a unique, deep, and melancholic style—our Tangorra experience that pushes the limits of your senses, both electronic and tango.
Our latest material, set to release in 2025, is another step in this direction. Tango from the soul, carrying the weight of the 21st century and the current narrative of Buenos Aires. The 15th-anniversary tour will be a look back at these wonderful years of our careers, but it’s also an invitation to what’s new, featuring the unmistakable voice of Eliana Sosa, with “Milongueros,” a set of electro milongas to dance and feel that we recorded together in early ’24.
These are 15 years of our lives that we want to share with you. They are our dreams that once were just thoughts, and now we feel them as reality. Thank you to everyone who is part of this humble yet powerful project of contemporary tango.
