Apologies for the late posting of this notice, we've been busy planning the July edition and haven't been able to finalise things until now.
For July, we're pleased to welcome back Letitia Simone and Andrés Sosa, who will be running their hugely popular "Privatandas" in the church hall during the milonga.
*For those who aren't familiar with Privatandas, you'll find an explanation down the page.
Your Milonga Sábado TDJ will be our very own Master of Melody, Michael Barrow, "El Franglés" himself!
Not only will Michael be DJ'ing, he'll also be inaugurating our, hugely expensive and spanking new sound system.
Prepare yourselves to have those pampered lugholes bathed in luxurious, hi-fidelity, tango rhythms....
If he can find the "on" button.
At Milonga Sábado, you can expect -
A warm welcome
A charming venue
Nice nibbles
Great company
And a bit of Argentine tango thrown in for good measure...
ENTRANCE: £8 : cash or contactless!

What is a Privatanda?
Privatandas are mini private lessons with either Letitia or Andres (depending on whether you’re a leader or follower). Each privatanda lasts 15min, incorporating 3 tango tracks.
At the end of each track, your teacher will give you a little helpful feedback. You then dance to the next track, hopefully incorporating what they’ve suggested, and so on.
Once your privatanda is over, you can rejoin the milonga and immediately put that advice into practise!
Why Privatandas?
In group lessons, we’re often given a demanding move or technique but (inevitably) we don't get much personal attention.
In private lessons, on the other hand, we dance with the teacher and get lots of personal feedback, but (a) it’s expensive and (b) an hour can feel too long or too intense.
Since it’s not considered polite to offer advice in the milonga (and few of us are proper teachers), how do you find out that your embrace is too tight, or that your step is too bouncy?
Hence the “privatanda”: A short, carefully focussed way of getting positive feedback.
Privatandas with Letitia or Andrés cost £20 each and we'll shortly be posting a link for booking forms, timings and methods of payment.

BUC is a fabulous venue; a charming Regency chapel designed in the 1820's, slap bang in the middle of Brighton. It's light and airy with a lovely, smooth, wooden floor.
It's convenient if you're travelling, too. NCP "Brighton Theatre" is 50 yards away on Church Street, BN1 1US (although it is pricey!). No car? BUC is only a short walk from Brighton Station and all the major Brighton bus routes.
If you're coming in from further afield, why not spread the load with a car share? Brighton has an excellent Park and Ride scheme located at Withdean https://tinyurl.com/2rzcnuvu.
There's also free parking at the Marina, followed by a No7 bus to the "North Street" stop, about 100m from BUC, £3 each way.
You could even travel in style and take the historic Volks Electric Railway.
