Milonga Esquina Porteña with Pre -milonga Chacarera class

This month we are super excited to be hosting Fernando 'Chucky' Romero who will be teaching a pre - milonga Chacarera class as well as DJing for us in the milonga (where of, of course, there will be opportunity for you to dance Chacarera).
Fernando is a Dancer, Teacher, DJ and promoter of Argentine Culture with a career spanning many years and countries connected to Folklore and Tango.
It's going to be a real summer party vibe and we hope you can come and join us.
CLASS 5-6pm with Fernando 'Chucky' Romero:
The class will focus on Chacarera. A hugely popular and joyful traditional Argentine folk dance that DJs often play at milongas as well as at celebrations and festivals in Argentina.
This class is suitable for all levels including those who have only just started learning Tango, or even those who don't dance tango at all. No need to book or bring a partner, just turn up at 5pm and join the fun.
MILONGA 6-10pm
As ever, we aim to bring you the warm and friendly atmosphere of a traditional neighbourhood milonga where we offer you:
👉 An inspiring selection of highly danceable traditional tango music, mainly from the Golden Age organised in tandas with cortinas (TTVTTM) provided by DJ 'El Chucky'
👉Tanda display (technology permitting)
👉 An attractive and spacious venue with plenty of seating and space for dancing.
👉 Complementary light refeshments (tea, coffee and fruit juice) and light buffet including some gluten free and vegan recipe options
👉 Free entry into our raffle
Also useful to know:
💰Entry = £10 class £10 milonga *CASH ONLY PLEASE*
We offer 2 additional reward card stamps for those who take both class and milonga.
☺️We offer reward cards and will issue 2 reward stamps per milonga. After you fill out your card can then get into your next milonga with us free.
💃🕺At our milonga, we encourage use of the mirada/cabaceo for initiating dances and ask that dancers demonstrate considerate floor craft by observing the etiquette of the ronda.
🍷We don't serve alcohol but your are welcome to BYOB and there are wine glasses available in the kitchen.
🚗The hall doesn't have a car park. However, it is easy to find parking spaces within a very short distance of the hall on St Andrew's Road and adjacent streets.
🚍For those that don't drive the hall is accessible by bus and a short walk. Service 218 is the quickest option from the train station and should get you to the hall in 15 minutes which includes a 5 minute walk. Head to stop SS1 on Paternoster Row (near the Showroom cinema)
👉Although there is plenty of seating, places at tables are limited. Therefore if you want to book a table place for yourself or a group you can do so by contacting
me directly (scroll down for contact details)
☺️We are more than happy for other organizers to bring flyers and promote their events at our milonga, so long as you check first that they don't clash with any of our own events. We also haveannouncements where we invite other organisers to plug their events. If you wish to be included in this just let me know.
