POWER TURNS
This Friday we'll continue the themes of the woman's voice and nuevo music through "power turns". These dynamic turns apply the principles of colgadas to our basic molinete, creating very fun turns. These can be invited by the man or suggested by the woman and are particularly appropriate for vals or alternative music. They can also give a sense of play as both partners tease each other with this movement. They are used in tango, too, but we like to play up the "wheeee!" quality when we can. A nice way to spice up the dance.
$25 workshop + milonga
$15 workshop only or milonga only
($10 for full-time students)
