Childhood hunger is a widespread issue, and it is no different here in the Millstadt community. Additionally, recent grant programs funding these programs in our community have run out.Here alone 22% of students are on free/reduced lunch, 26% of our kids are coming to school without breakfast. That means that over 1/4 of our student population comes to school not fully prepared and ready to learn. Plus, on the weekends and during the summer months many students go without meals.
We here at Millpond Brewing learned about this issue impacting our community and are determined to help fund food distribution programs during, before, after school, and summer break with a little fun and a lot of beer.
Along with the help from Cyndi Hasenstab (St. James), Jenn Missey (MCS), and Kristen Kienitz (MCS), please join us in raising money for these programs during Millpine Derby, which will take
place May 5th, 2024, at Millpond Brewing (308 E. Washington St, Millstadt, IL 62260).
Relive your scouting glory days, show off your handy wood workmanship, or just come out for some fun and cheer on your favorite racer with a nice cold beer.
All funds raised from the Millpine Derby will go toward funding school lunch programs, student breakfast, plus after-school, weekend, and summer food programs.

What is Millpine Derby?
A Pinewood Derby-style race at Millpond Brewing taking place on May 5th, 2024, from 1pm-4pm.
All proceeds will be donated to food distribution programs at St. James and MCS.

There are three (3) ways to race your pinewood car at the Millpine Derby.
1. Individual Entries – Good for one entry into the the Millpine Derby. BSA rules apply to all car entries. ($25)
2. Corporate Sponsorship Package ($150)
a. Includes signage day of the event
b. One entry into the Corporate Sponsorship race (BSA rules apply)
c. Logo (provided by Sponsor) on the event t-shirt.
d. Entry Deadline April 10th
3. Corporate Sponsorship Package - Including Race Ready Car ($200)
a. Includes signage day of the event
b. One entry into the Corporate Sponsorship race (BSA rules apply)
c. Logo (provided by Sponsor) on the event t-shirt.
d. Race ready car for Derby Day!
e. Enry Deadline April 10 th
f. Limit 20 Sponsorships at this level
🏁--- MILLPINE DERBY RACING RULES ---🏁
What are the BSA (Boy Scouts of America) Rules?
1. Width shall not exceed 2-3/4 inches.
2. Length shall not exceed 7 inches.
3. Weight shall not exceed 5 ounces.
4. Axles, wheels, and body shall be from the materials provided in the kit. Additional wheels can be purchased separately. No shaving wheels.
5. Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited.
6. Graphite, Silicone or Lubricating oil may be used on the axles as long as there are no wet substances on the car to foul the track.
7. The car shall not ride on any kind of spring.
8. The car must be free-wheeling, with no starting devices.
9. No loose materials of any kind are allowed in the car.
10. Insider tip, certain BSA shops in the metro area now carry pre-carved cars.
