Hailed as “one of the greatest interpreters of Miles Davis' work in Canada” (Hamilton Spectator), multi award-winning trumpet iconoclast Brownman Ali leads a tribute to a pivotal chapters in Miles'history. From 1951 to 1956, Miles would record a string of groundbreaking albums for Prestige Records, including Cookin’, Relaxin’, Workin’, and Steamin’ -- music that blended bebop virtuosity with a cool, lyrical sensibility that reshaped modern jazz. Brownman and a selection of top-shelf jazz artists will explore these recordings channeling the intensity and innovation of Miles’ early genius.

Up from Brooklyn, NY in June for this festival, this 10x Global Music Award winner, 12x JUNO Award nominee and GRAMMY long-lister will be on stage every night during the festival as either a sideman or a leader, and has hand-picked all the top-shelf musicians involved in the 1st annual My House Junction Jazz Fest!
