The 11th Hour celebrates the centennial legacy of Miles Davis and John Coltrane with an evening drawn from one of the most transformative partnerships in jazz history. This performance revisits the sound, spirit, and restless innovation of their classic collaborations — music that reshaped modern jazz and continues to challenge and inspire.
Saxophonist Nii Akwei Adoteye brings a commanding, deeply expressive voice to the music, balancing reverence for the tradition with fearless improvisation. A respected educator and composer, he has shared the stage with artists including Kenny Garrett, Kurt Elling, Catherine Russell, Dave Douglas, and the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra.
Trumpeter Eric Williams, known for his clarity, range, and dynamic presence, has toured nationally with the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors and studied under leading voices of the music. Together, Adoteye and Williams channel the intensity, lyricism, and risk-taking that defined the Davis–Coltrane era.
