Mike Willis' Southern Sessions

The last two Southern Sessions have been an absolute blast, so we're pretty darn sure the third will be unmissable!
About the band:
Southern is a live ensemble led by Mike Willis. Drawing on the warmth, grit, and storytelling tradition of American roots music, the band brings together some of Hastings’ most recognisable music makers.
Drawing from their own songs and carefully considered outside material, Southern evolves from performance to performance — with each show bringing new songs, improvised moments, and surprise collaborations. As Willis puts it, “For us, this project is about bringing great songs to life and building community around that process.”
About the Event
After weeks in the woodshed, these monthly Jenny Lind Sessions are the next step in Southern’s development — giving the band a chance to step out of rehearsal and into the room. And what a room it is, this first session features Andy Nunn (keys), James Davison (bass), Aram Zarikian (drums), John Hornig (pedal steel), and Jim Board (guitar), plus a special secret guest singer and harmonica legend all the way over from North Carolina (in the colonies).
The show is free and open to the public, running from 7–9(ish), and likely a little beyond. Come down! Have a pint!
