Mike returns to the Chicory for the Sunday lunch series! It’s been a while—probably since Covid arrived. Vial, a songwriter and teacher from Ann Arbor, has been playing a caffeinated style of Jake’s Taylor like music for over twenty years. He recorded with Dan Achen (City & Colour, Feist) in 2010 and met other South Bend bands during his musical travels, sharing gigs with Dena Woods, Frances Luke Accord, and others over the years.
Now that his kids are getting older, Vial is playing more gigs this summer. You may have seen him at Wild Rose Moon, the Ruthemere Museum, Fiddler’s Hearth.
He’s finishing a record soon of moments of American heroism and history, Profiles of Course, named after JFK’s ghostwritten essay book.
Mike is very excited to have coffee and the Chicory. Expect his songs to be 5-10 bpm faster than normal!
