Yet that quest was only the tip of the iceberg — it didn’t take long before Mike would realize just how cathartic it was to be able to channel his best and worst sides into a song, as well as how exhilarating it was to see his creations resonate with live audiences, and the rest, as they say, was history.
Passing influences including Tom Petty, Darrell Scott, John Mayer and Gabe Dixon through a soulful, indie inflected lens, Mike’s unique sonic identity stands apart from the folk and Americana scenes’ status quo, and provides a perfect background for his simultaneously hard-hitting and relatable lyrics. With a reputation for electric performances whether he’s selling out institutional venues like Eddie’s Attic, opening for legends like Joan Jett, or bringing his creations to life in the studio with Grammy-winning producers like Charlie Lowell and Matt Odmark, Mike has earned the hearts of a diverse global fanbase whose expansion shows no sign of stopping.
