Recognized as one of the “top 1% of bassists worldwide” by director Scotty Barnhart of the legendary Count Basie Orchestra, Mikailo Kasha is a dynamic bandleader, versatile sideman and a prodigious voice on both upright and electric bass.A three-time DownBeat student award winner, Kasha has appeared at major festivals such as San Jose Jazz Summerfest, Rochester Jazz Festival and Stanford Jazz Festival and shared the stage with legends such as Nestor Torres, Jessie Jones Jr. and Dayna Stephens, among others.
Bringing a bold, cinematic sound to the stage with his high-energy group, Kasha will be unleashing a suite of original compositions accompanied by two drummers, two keyboardists and a surprise guitarist.
