About this Event
The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship warmly invites you to attend the mihi whakatau for the launch of the third annual Kurutao programme.
Kurutao is a Māori Entrepreneurial Leaders Study Expedition designed to inspire and uplift Ngāi Māori through deep engagement with Aotearoa’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. This year’s expedition will focus on Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Arawa, offering a wānanga-rich journey through industry visits and learning alongside Māori founders, investors, creatives and changemakers.
The mihi whakatau marks the beginning of this kaupapa and the official welcome for the 2026 rōpū - a cohort of emerging Māori entrepreneurial leaders from across Waipapa Taumata Rau. Each brings their different ideas, experiences and ways of seeing the world, and through Kurutao, they will strengthen their kete of tools, insights, and connections.
