WA midwives have a message for the families we care for. The state and federal governments think that newly born babies can care for themselves, but we know that many babies (and parents!) need the professional, clinical care of trained midwives to get their healthiest start in life. We want you to understand that, right now, by law, almost NO babies staying in maternity hospitals are actually counted as patients! WA midwives want you to know: Safe care means counting babies!
