Four Corners Fire & Safety is hosting the 1st Annual Midwest Track Safety Conference. This event will replace our usual spring training. We are collaborating with the Med Star Dirt Track Rescue Team to organize this conference. Our goal is to standardize operational practices so that both fans and drivers can feel secure at tracks across the country. Participation in this training will be free for all attendees. We are currently finalizing the format of the classes and selecting the presenters. We are excited to develop this into something significant and to make a meaningful impact on the sport we all love.
During registration, students have the opportunity to select four out of five available class options to tailor their learning experience. This selection is offered due to the breadth of fascinating topics and materials available, alongside the limited time to cover them all. We believe it is beneficial for participants to choose the subjects they are most interested in exploring.
The class options are as follows:
Driver Extrication - This class centers on the process of extricating Sprint car drivers. Students will learn to provide proper support to minimize further injury, strategically dismantle a sprint car to facilitate extrication and collaborate as a team to safely transfer the driver to the ambulance cot. (If time permits, we will also address Doored cars.)
Fire Suppression/Exotic Fuels - This hands-on class allows students to work with different materials and various extinguishment techniques.
Towing/Recovery - Explore various methods for hooking and removing a car from the track without causing additional damage.
Incident Analysis - This engaging class involves analyzing videos collected from safety personnel. Students will view the footage and participate in discussions about the actions of the safety crew, tow crew, push trucks, officials, and other involved parties.
Kart Incident Management - This class addresses the unique challenges of Cage Karts and Flat Karts, demonstrating that these smaller vehicles present demands and excitement comparable to larger vehicles.
