About Midwest Dilemma
Midwest Dilemma, led by Omaha-based singer-songwriter Justin Lamoureux, has built a reputation in the folk music scene for their unique orchestral arrangements and storytelling approach. Since their acclaimed 2008 debut, "Timelines & Tragedies," which won Album of the Year from the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards, the band has continued to push boundaries, incorporating a wide array of instruments and collaborating with over 20 musicians on some projects. Known for blending genres, Midwest Dilemma has performed alongside artists like Lord Huron, Conor Oberst, and Blind Pilot and even had a track featured on PBS’s "Roadtrip Nation," further cementing their place in contemporary folk music .
Their latest album, "Searching for the Cure for Loneliness," continues this tradition of merging folk with expansive orchestration and a cinematic feel, creating an evocative exploration of themes like isolation, longing, and self-reflection. This album sees Lamoureux diving even deeper into the intricacies of human emotion and experience, resulting in a soundscape that is both intimate and grand.
