About this Event

Midsummer ☀️ The Summer Solstice - As celebrated in the North Wyldewood Tradition:

It’s the time the Sun is at its highest point of the year--the longest day.

Vikings ventured overseas after their crops were planted. So, this could be considered a time of risk-taking, courage, and bold action.

At the Summer Solstice, the veil between the worlds is thin--almost as thin as at Beltane and Samhain. It is a powerful time to make contact with the inhabitants of the otherworld, thereby deepening your connection with the Earth, with our magic and divination, and the Divine.

It’s also a time of bonfires—both for celebration and protection— as well of blessing the upcoming harvest. The time when the Oak King is at full power. This is considered a most fortuitous time to gather sacred herbs as their magical properties are at their power.

There is some recognition that nothing stays at full power. Nature, and life, are cycles: birth, life, death, and rebirth. So while Nature is at the high point, really enjoy all these moments because after the Summer Solstice the Sun’s light diminishes.

Come and enjoy our Midsummer ritual as we celebrate the longest day of the year!
