Midsummer Brass: Peter Moore with The City of Cambridge Brass Band

Moore came to international attention in 2008 when, aged just 12, he became the youngest ever winner of BBC Young Musician — a title that launched a career of remarkable range and ambition. Former Principal Trombone of the London Symphony Orchestra, he is now one of the most sought-after soloists in the world. BBC Music Magazine described his playing as possessing "an eloquence and nobility that one might have thought impossible except by the human voice."

Born in Belfast and brought up in Greater Manchester, Moore was shaped early on by the North of England's brass band tradition — making this evening with CCBB a particularly fitting reunion with the music that first forged his extraordinary talent.
