🥾 5¼ miles 🥾 Leisurely 🥾 Leader: Vicky O 🥾
This evening walk will take us through the pretty Peasholm Park and up to Jonnos Field with its 'Easter Island' inspired sculptures and panoramic views of the Castle and North Bay. The walk continues along the cinder track, past the golf club, eventually reaching the cliff top. We follow the path down to Scalby Mills and along the promenade back to Peasholm Gap. After the walk, we can have a drink at Taylors Bar.
🥾 This route is mainly on tarmac paths with just a short distance on the cliff paths. Please wear appropriate footwear.
🪜 The route is relatively flat but up to Jonnos Field involves a short, steep section of steps and there are also steps down from the cliffs to Scalby Mills.
🌊 Please note it will be high tide when we walk along the promenade. If the waves are over topping, an alternative route is planned.
🪧 Meet on the long bench at Peasholm Gap, at the start of the North Bay Promenade
🅿️ Free parking on Royal Albert Drive, Scarborough, YO12 1TY
🚌 The walk starts about 1 mile walk from the railway station, or you can get the 843 bus from the station at 17:51. The last bus back to the station is at 20:15
🐶 Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times
Midlife Hikers is a Ramblers group for people in their 40s and 50s, and our walks are led by volunteers. Non-members are welcome to try us out for free for up to 3 walks but then we ask you to join the Ramblers.
