Eric LoPresti Presentation and Seed Swap
Join in person at 7 p.m. at 1605 Park Circle, Columbia, SC
or via ZOOM (see below for full Zoom instructions)
Dr. Eric Lopresti from USC Biological Sciences will be our guest speaker at the November chapter meeting. He researches plant-animal relationships, which expanded upon inheriting a historic collection of moth species. Resuming the research has brought startling results and new moth sightings. But what about your yard? Is it possible there’s anything new out there? Did you know that an extremely rare plant was just discovered in Florence county? Come hear from Dr. Lopresti: Natural history is dead. Long live natural history!

Swap Native Seeds
Bring native seeds to swap at the meeting after the talk. Remember to leave plenty of seeds standing in the garden for birds to eat over the winter.
What to bring:
- Cleaned native plant seeds (cleaning doesn’t have to be perfect), labeled with the full name, in a bag
- Printed short description of the plant for each species. Bonus: add a photo!
- We’ll have small paper envelopes to take swapped seeds home in.
