About The Midland Band
Hailing from Nebraska, The Midland Band fuses 70s jazz-rock with fiery improvisation, drawing inspiration from legends like Steely Dan, Yes, Frank Zappa, Return to Forever, and The Grateful Dead, as well as modern heavy-hitters like Umphrey’s McGee. Known for their bold, high-energy jams that are both intense and danceable, they deliver captivating performances that always leave the crowd wanting more.
Erf — Nick Babcock [drums, vocals], Peter Neel [keyboards, vocals], Bryce Wagner [bass, vocals], and J.B. Williams [guitar, vocals] — captivate audiences with finely honed group improvisation, head-splitting climaxes, and genre-bending original tunes. Their debut album Pale Blue Erf (2021) helped establish them as a premier Midwest jam act.
