Middle Powers, New Plays: Gulf Influence in Africa with Liam Karr
The Africa Discussion Group, part of the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP), is pleased to host a conversation titled Middle Powers, New Plays: Gulf Influence in Africa, which will examine on how the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey are reshaping African politics, security, and economics and what African states are doing with the leverage that creates.
We will hear from Liam Karr, Africa Team Lead at the Critical Threats Project, American Enterprise Institute, on how growing Gulf influence is shaping African alignments and how those dynamics are shifting in the context of the war in Sudan and the escalating war in Iran.
We look forward to hosting you at the offices of McLarty Associates on Wednesday, April 8, at 6:00 pm. Snacks and light refreshments will be provided!
