Join Sampad and B:Music for International Day of Peace with Satwinder Pal Singh and guests.
For this Midday Mantra, Satwinder will perform a raag, moving through melodies and improvisation to create a musical performance for the globally recognised International Day of Peace. For the second half of the performance Satwinder will present a piece titled Autumn Melody, joined by his wife who is also joint composer, Karamjeet Kaur.
Satwinder’s musical journey began at the age of 11 under the tutelage of his father, Ustad S. Shaminder Pal Singh, an A-grade Sarangi player and retired staff artist of All India Radio, Jalandhar. His father is a disciple of the legendary Padma Bhushan Ustad Sabri Khan Saheb, the Sarangi Sammrat. Drawing upon the rich legacy of his family’s musical heritage, Satwinder received intense training in Sarangi, Saranda and vocal from his father, mastering these classical instruments.
Satwinder has achieved awards and recognition around the world and has collaborated with esteemed musicians including Padma Bhushan Ustad Sabri Khan, Padam Vibushan Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Taufiq Qureshi, Ustad Fazal Qureshi and many other great musicians.
