Due to the nature of this event, participation requires in person attendance. Only paid attendees will be able to participate in the activities, whether it be the morning workshop or the period dress afternoon soirée, and attendees need to plan to participate in the whole day’s activities.
For those wanting to be in modern dress and just observe the afternoon activities, that will be handled through paid admission to the Cannonball House.

DETAILS (for ladies ages 16 & up):
From 9-1, our time in modern clothing will be employed making our own hair pomade and hair powder, making a ribbon band hairnet, making hair rats/braids/extensions, and then learning how to create some of those hair styles you see in likenesses of the time!
At 1 o’clock, we will don our period attire so that at 1:30 we may begin our tea. The lovely thing is we will already have our hair done from our workshop in the morning, so one less step for getting ready!
From 1:30 to 4 PM, we will hold our tea and summer soirée (periodical readings, period card games, conversation games, etc.) in the parlors and dining room for the general public to view as they come through for tours. So not only will we be learning something new for our impressions, but we’ll also get to share it with the public in the same day!
Cost is $40 per person, and includes materials for the workshop portion. You will need to bring any hair you have been collecting from your hair brush for rat-making, and/or braids in your hair color that you can create an hairpiece with. You will also need to bring a food item to share for the tea in the afternoon. This will serve as our midday meal. Additional details are shared in your confirmation email upon completing your registration.
