ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
In the workshop, you'll start by making some delicious Japanese sweets to celebrate Mid-Autumn festival: Moon viewing “mochi”- “Tsukimi Dango”. This is a traditional Japanese confection made of mochi and anko (azuki bean paste). The azuki paste is hand-packed around pre-formed balls of mochi. They are eaten as sacred food as offering during the weeks of the autumnal equinox in Japan. After this, you’ll be guided through an introduction to the art of Chinese calligraphy, where you will learn how to hold the brush, the basic brush strokes and how to write the 4 seasons (using the Chinese magic water writing cloth!) Then you will have the opportunity to make something to take away!
The workshops will take place downstairs in the café and kitchen areas. The building has step-free level access and there is an accessible toilet. For more info about the accessibility of the venue, please visit the Soft Touch Arts Website here.
We can't wait to see you there.
