About this Event
Join us at the Dylan Thomas Centre for our Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration and Chinese School Open Day. This year is extra special, as it also marks the 10th anniversary of the Confucius Institute Chinese School in Swansea.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important celebrations in the Chinese calendar, a time for families to come together under the full moon. We'd love you to come and share it with us.
Main Venue: Vivian Hall
10:00 to 11:00 — Chinese School 10th Anniversary and Mid-Autumn Festival Art Exhibition
11:00 to 15:00 — Cultural workshops and performances
Satellite Venue: DTC Theatre
11:30 to 12:00 — The Story of the Mid-Autumn Festival
13:00 to 15:00 — Mid-Autumn film screening

DIY mooncake making
Lantern making
Paper plate painting and calligraphy
Intangible cultural heritage weaving
Ink printing
Bookmark making
Traditional costume crafts
Chenille stem crafts
Face painting and temporary tattoos

Free event, all ages welcome
Traditional costume encouraged but not required
Drop in any time between 10:00 and 15:00
We'll also have staff on hand if you'd like to find out about our Sunday Chinese classes for children aged 5 to 18.
