Microneedling Recovery Lab: Post-Care + Ultrasound for Professionals
About this Event
A 3-hour introductory professional training on microneedling recovery, post-procedure skincare, and the strategic use of ultrasound.
Microneedling does not end when the device is turned off.
What happens immediately after treatment—and during the days that follow—can influence skin comfort, recovery, product tolerance, and the overall client experience.
Microneedling Recovery Lab is an introductory professional education session designed for estheticians, facialists, med spa professionals, skincare specialists, and other beauty professionals who want to better understand how to support skin after microneedling.
Rather than focusing only on the procedure itself, we will look at the skin from a post-treatment formulation and recovery perspective:
What does freshly treated skin actually need?
Which ingredients make sense—and which ones may be too much?
When should actives be reintroduced?
Where can ultrasound fit into a professional treatment protocol?
The goal is not simply to add more products or more modalities.
The goal is to understand when to stimulate, when to support, and when to allow the skin to recover.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
During this 3-hour introductory session, we will cover:
• What happens to the skin barrier following microneedling
• Understanding inflammation, sensitivity, dehydration, and temporary barrier disruption
• Immediate post-procedure skincare priorities
• How to evaluate ingredients for recently treated skin
• Ingredients commonly used for hydration, soothing, and barrier support
• Why stronger is not always better after an intensive treatment
• When and how active skincare can be gradually reintroduced
• Common post-care mistakes that may increase unnecessary irritation
• Introduction to professional ultrasound technology
• Understanding ultrasound frequency and its role in aesthetic protocols
• How ultrasound may be incorporated into a broader skin-recovery strategy
• Building home-care recommendations that clients can realistically follow
• How to approach complicated skin where acne, sensitivity, pigmentation, dehydration, or aging concerns overlap
MICRONEEDLING + FORMULATION SCIENCE
One of the biggest challenges after professional treatments is deciding what should go on the skin next.
A product may contain an excellent active ingredient and still be inappropriate at a particular stage of recovery.
We will look beyond individual “hero ingredients” and discuss skincare from a formulation perspective—including concentration, combinations of ingredients, skin tolerance, barrier condition, and timing.
Because when skin becomes complicated, formulation matters.
ULTRASOUND INTRODUCTION
The second part of the session introduces professional ultrasound as another modality that can be incorporated into aesthetic treatment planning.
We will discuss:
• Basic ultrasound principles
• Different ultrasound frequencies
• Treatment considerations
• Product and modality compatibility
• Where ultrasound may fit within treatment and recovery protocols
• How to think about treatment sequencing rather than simply adding more steps
This portion is designed as an introduction, particularly for professionals who are curious about ultrasound or considering incorporating it into their practice.
